The actress who played Storm in the 20th Century Fox adaptation of mutant superhero movie series has no desire to reprise her role after Marvel took over the franchise.

AceShowbiz - Alexandra Shipp has dismissed the possibility of her return to the "X-Men" franchise. The 32-year-old actress portrayed the superhero Storm in two of the movies but has no interest in reprising the role for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) reboot.

"You know, what's kind of funny is no. I'm not interested (in returning)," Alexandra said to Entertainment Tonight.

"The thing is, what I love about the career that I've been able to form is that I can play many different things and at this point, I feel like I've done what I needed to do with Storm and I think that there are other women who could take on that role and really kill it and support that. But for me, I just feel like I'm at a different place in my life."

It isn't the first time that Alexandra has suggested that she wouldn't be returning as Storm and she previously revealed that she would like to see a star with a "darker complexion" take on the role.

She told ComicBookMovie in 2022, "In future, I'd like to see a woman of darker complexion play Storm. I think it's about time we see that representation, and I'm more than happy to see that. I think it would be really great. The little girl in me would really like to see that."

The "Barbie" star continued, "I loved the experience. I think it was so definitive of my 20s to be part of that. I'd never worked on anything so big and to be able to play not only one of my favourite superheroes growing up, but also reprising a role Halle Berry played was a huge honour."
