The 'Montero (Call Me by Your Name)' hitmaker insists that 'nowhere in the picture is a mockery of Jesus' since Jesus' 'image is used throughout history in people's art all over the world.'

AceShowbiz - Lil Nas X has broken his silence following an allegation suggesting that he made fun of Jesus. After being accused of making a "mockery of Jesus" in the cover of his new single, the "Old Town Road" hitmaker insisted that it wasn't true.

On Monday, January 8, the 24-year-old Grammy winner took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to give his response to claims about the artwork of his upcoming song titled "J CHRIST". In a tweet, he stated, "The crazy thing is nowhere in the picture is a mockery of jesus."

Lil Nas X went on to explain, "Jesus' image is used throughout history in people's art all over the world." He then insisted, "I'm not making fun of s**t." He further stressed, "Y'all just gotta stop trying to gatekeep a religion that was here before any of us were even born. Stfu."

Lil Nas X Tweet

Lil Nas X insisted that he didn't try to make fun of Jesus with his 'J Christ' song's cover art.

Earlier that same day, the "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" hitmaker announced several details of his track "J CHRIST". On the same social media platform, he revealed, "MY NEW SINGLE IS DEDICATED TO THE MAN WHO HAD THE GREATEST COMEBACK OF ALL TIME! J CHRIST. JANUARY 12, 2024. 00:00 EST. BE THERE!"

Along with the announcement, Lil Nas X attached the cover of the track. In the artwork, it could be seen that he was lying on a massive black cross while spreading both of his hands. He was photographed being surrounded by five people, some of whom were holding a white rope with their hands while the other two were pushing the cross, seemingly attempting to move it.

After sharing the artwork, Lil Nas X was quickly bombarded with unpleasant online comments from X users. In the replies section of the tweet, one in particular criticized, "Disgusting how Kanye West can be cancel for calling out the jewisshhhhh agenda but yall can mock Christianity on GP…. I am literally outraged and you arent even cute. Jesus wasnt on a AI cross with pedicured feet like I am appalled. Cancel nasX or reinstate Kanye."

The criticisms did not stop there. Another pointed out, "Disappointed, disgusted & feeling uncomfortable." In the meantime, a third sarcastically asked, "Can you make a song where you don't mock any religion?" A fourth added, "Anyone who still relies on religious outrage as a form of provocative marketing in 2024 really needs to find another passion. Being this desperate to be controversial and get attention is really tragic."
