AceShowbiz - Kanye West is particular when it comes to aesthetics. The "Vultures" rapper is trying to sell his $57 million mansion on the beach in Malibu because the wall color isn't to his liking, according to a new report by Daily Mail.
A source revealed to the news outlet that the former husband of Kim Kardashian didn't want the place because the walls aren't the right color. "Ye prefers earth tones, muddy colors from silt to loam but never too cold and nothing visually draining like a clay," the informant claimed in a report published on Sunday, December 31.
"Architects and designers working for Ye have in the past been dispatched to collect soil samples from the U.K., France, and elsewhere as color references for his iconic looks," the source continued. "Unfortunately, the concrete settled into more of a cadet gray and he was hoping for a warmer tone, more of dovetail gray or coachman's cape. Ye would only visit the house at sunrise and sunset when he said the color didn't irritate him so much. Eventually, he stopped going altogether."
Prior to this, it was revealed that "Selling Sunset" star Jason Oppenheim's brokerage Oppenheim Group is listing the property. The rapper is selling the property, which he bought for $57 million, for $53 million, but Jason said that the price is reasonable because the musician removed the home's interiors.
Jason admitted that scoring the listing for the house, which is designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Japanese architect Tadao Ando, is a huge privilege. "I wanted to have a listing with such architectural pedigree," he shared.
He further dubbed the house, which includes 4,000 square feet of interior space and approximately 1,500 square feet of outdoor living areas, "a unique home for a unique and discerning buyer." Jason also added that the value of the property, which is located in Malibu Road location, is "really in its structure."
The real estate agent continued, "This architect is known for his concrete work, which is what remains. So it's really going to be up to the new buyer to imagine the interiors that he or she wants. It was a very minimalist interior previously and will likely continue to be that in order to allow the architecture to speak louder than the finishes."
