AceShowbiz - Jeannie Mai's claims that she was blindsided by Jeezy's (formerly Young Jeezy) divorce filing have been debunked. After the TV personality said in an interview that she was "gutted" to learn about their split at the same time as the rest of the world, sources close to the estranged couple refute her point of view.
The sources tell TMZ that there is no truth to the former "How Do I Look?" host's claims that she heard about Jeezy's divorce filing through the media. Insisting that the fashion expert's statements were "absolutely false," the sources cite "clear signs" of the relationship unraveling "right before their eyes" over a long period of time.
In fact, Jeezy and Jeannie had been engaged in marriage counseling with multiple therapists before Jeezy came to the realization that the relationship was irretrievably broken, according to the informants. Thus, the rapper thinks that his estranged wife's suggestion their split came out of nowhere is "disingenuous."
During an appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show" on Monday, December 4, Jeannie opened up about her feelings after Jeezy filed for divorce from her on September 14. "Even though this year, I met the most broken version of me. I also met the strongest version of me," she shared.
"It was kind of hard, so yeah, it's what I'm dealing with day by day, you know?" she admitted, before adding, "I think I’m doing better now. So today, it's about picking up the pieces. It's about discovering me and being a mom to the best blessing in my life, my little girl."
In her response to Jeezy's divorce filing, Jeannie suggested that he cheated on her, an allegation which he has strongly denied. "Any claim of infidelity on Mr. Jenkins' behalf are 100 percent false," the 46-year-old's rep told Us Weekly on Saturday.
However, Jeezy's alleged childhood friend Clem appeared to back Jeannie's claims. The man, who said he's a former friend of the rapper, said he has no problems believing the former makeup artist because he's never known Jeezy to be loyal.
"Jeezy, you're not a real n***a, you want to know why? Because your wife just came out and said you cheated on her. And I believe her because I know you," Clem said in a video posted on social media. "He's not loyal, it's all good."
