Teasing the story of young Furiosa (Taylor-Joy) and her odyssey in finding her way back home, the official sneak peek also offers glimpses of Hemsworth who is nearly unrecognizable in his makeover.

AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. Pictures has unleashed the first official trailer for "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga". The studio dropped the footage at CCXP, Brazil's biggest Comic-Con event, on Thursday evening, November 30 along with the updated title.

Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth joined director George Miller onstage to preview the upcoming movie. Both of them star in the "Mad Max: Fury Road" prequel and are featured prominently in the trailer.

The video, which was immediately made available for viewing pleasure online, opens with a logline which reads, "45 years after the collapse, a young Furiosa is taken from her family. She will devote the rest of her life to finding her way home. This is her odyssey."

The trailer focuses on young Furiosa (Taylor-Joy) as she settles in a sinister world. She does everything to survive, racing and lifting up a weapon, with the video showing many explosions and action scenes. "I'm Furiosa, the darkest of angels," she declares at one point.

Hemsworth, who is nearly unrecognizable in his makeover to play Dementus, is seen asking the titular character at the end of the trailer, "The question is, do you have it in you to make it epic?"

According to the official synopsis, "As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home."

At CCXP, Hemsworth explained his character, "He's a complicated individual. He's a very violent, insane, brutal person that is born from the Wasteland, which is the world the 'Mad Max' saga takes place in. He's a product of his environment." The MCU actor continued, "He has been birthed into a space where it's kill or be killed. He's learned to rule with an iron fist. There's a charisma to him and it's a very manipulative charisma."

Also starring Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson and Daniel Webber, "Furiosa" is written by Miller and Nico Lathouris. The post-apocalyptic action adventure film will race into theaters across the nation on May 24, 2024.
