After being met with backlash for wearing 'a little inappropriate' outfit during her halftime show gig, the 'I Will Always Love You' singer has her supporters come to her defense via social media.

AceShowbiz - Dolly Parton has been defended against critics of her choice of clothes. After being inundated with backlash for wearing Dallas Cowboys' cheerleader outfit at their halftime show, the "I Will Always Love You" singer was supported by a number of social media users, who praised her for rocking the ensemble.

On Thursday, November 23, the 77-year-old country superstar became a hot topic on X, formerly known as Twitter, due to her stage outfit from her halftime show performance. A number of X users came to her defense. Among them was one who penned, "For everyone complaining about how Dolly Parton dressed tonight, that's who she is and always has been. A f****ng queen."

Similarly, another joined in, "Why are some people complaining. You should be excited to know it's poss to look like this at her age." Meanwhile, a third gushed, "Oh my goodness. just caught the replay and WOW! You OWNED that performance and the costume. Outstanding. Simply outstanding." A fourth exclaimed, "You never disappoint. You are a star, your twinkle brightens lives, and you looked stunning in your outfit!!! Bravo Beautiful!"

That same day, Dolly took the stage during the halftime show of Dallas Cowboys' home game against the Washington Commanders that was held at Arlington's AT&T Stadium. During her performance, she belted out some of her hit classics, "Jolene" and "9 to 5". In addition, she delivered Queen's tracks, including "We Are The Champions" as well as "We Will Rock You".

For the performance, Dolly flaunted her age-defying look in a blue crop top that came with a plunging neckline and two long balloon sleeves. Over it, she put on a white vest that had blue star embellishments. She also donned a pair of white mini pants with similar blue decorations. In addition, her full makeup consisted of bold blue eyeshadow and bright pink lipstick. Meanwhile, her long fingernails were polished in a bright red color.

Later on, the "World on Fire" singer was criticized by social media users over the revealing outfit. Making use of X, one of them wrote that the get-up was meant to be worn by "a 17-year-old not for a 77-year-old." Similarly, another user said that the ensemble was "a little inappropriate."
