After being slapped with a $20 million lawsuit over her hit holiday track, the songstress will be presented with an award for the Christmas song at the upcoming event.

AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey is set to perform one of her hits despite a recent lawsuit. Around two weeks after being slapped with the lawsuit over her song "All I Want For Christmas Is You", the "Touch My Body" singer reportedly will perform the Christmas track at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.

On Sunday, November 19, Billboard revealed that it will be the first time for the 54-year-old songstress to deliver "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on stage at an awards show. In addition, it was said that choreographer Debbie Allen is responsible for the creative direction of the performance.

In addition to performing, Mariah will be presented with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award for the Christmas song during the event. She is slated to be honored with the award as the hit has reached No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 every year since 2019.

Aside from Mariah, other famous stars will perform at the upcoming event. Among them are KAROL G, New Jeans, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids, David Guetta and Bebe Rexha as well as Morgan Wallen.

Around two weeks prior, Mariah was sued by Andy Stone over "All I Want For Christmas Is You" for the second time. Mariah, her co-writer Walter Afanasieff and Sony Music Entertainment in the Central District of California were named as defendants in the $20 million lawsuit, which was filed on October 31 by Andy, who performs as Vince Vance, and Troy Powers.

In the legal documents, Andy demanded a jury trial and asked for the huge amount of money in damages. He, through his lawyers, alleged "copyright infringement and unjust enrichment" over his own song, which is also titled "All I Want for Christmas Is You". His lawyers claimed that he co-wrote the song, which was released in 1989, in Nashville.

The lawyers reportedly also stated that Andy's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" song "received radio play" back in 1993. The track "became a hit on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart" one year later, which is the same year Mariah released her song.

Andy filed a similar $20 million lawsuit in Louisiana back in June 2022. However, according to Billboard, he dropped the lawsuit in November that same year.
