AceShowbiz - Netflix has revealed more insight into its upcoming series "Avatar: The Last Airbender". To further build fans' anticipation for the live-action show based on the award-winning Nickelodeon animated series, the streaming giant treats fans to first-look images of Fire Nation characters.

Revealed on Tuesday, October 17, one of the pictures features Daniel Dae Kim in his Fire Lord Ozai costume. He appears to be announcing something as he holds a big paper in his hands. Another image sees Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as General Iroh, while one other offers a look at Ken Leung's take on Commander Zhao.

The new images also include one that features Elizabeth Yu who portrays Princess Azula on the upcoming series. The last picture, meanwhile, offers another look at Dallas Liu in character as Prince Zuko.

The official synopsis of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" reads, "Water. Earth. Fire. Air. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope."

"But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang (Gordon Cormier), a young Air Nomad - and the last of his kind - reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar. Alongside his newfound friends Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio), siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world and fight back against the fearsome onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko (Liu) determined to capture them, it won't be an easy task. They'll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way," it continues.

Albert Kim serves as the showrunner and executive producer on the series. Jabbar Raisani, Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore of Rideback, as well as Michael Goi also join as executive producer. In addition to executive producing, Raisani and Goi are directing the series alongside Jet Wilkinson and Roseanne Liang, who also co-executive produces.

Netflix has yet to announce the premiere date for "Avatar: The Last Airbender", but it is expected to arrive in 2024.
