AceShowbiz - Jada Pinkett Smith has offered more details on her split from Will Smith. Days after confirming that she and the Oscar winner have been separated since 2016, the "Girls Trip" actress divulged that she moved out of the former couple's home in Calabasas two years ago.
The 52-year-old made the revelation in a new interview with the New York Times. She said she left the property as a 50th birthday present to herself. The mom of two additionally noted that she now resides in the "suburban Los Angeles community."
In the profile, Jada also opened up about how her relationship with Will affects their lager family dynamic. "We wanted to create a family we never had, and we did that," she said. "And we enjoy our family. For us, our marriage is like a cornerstone of that for now. Who knows in 10 years... We've tried everything to get away from each other, and we just don't."
Despite their split, Jada previously declared on the "Today" show that she hasn't had a plan to file for divorce from Will. When host Hoda Kotb asked, "Why not just amicably divorce? Why not just do that." She replied, "We don't want to. We love our family, and we love each other. You know, it's more of a life partnership."
"Now, 10 years from now, who knows? Well, you know, right now what we're focused on, which has been so beautiful, is deep healing - because of everything that's transpired," she elaborated further. "Now, what happens after that, I don't know yet."
However, Jada insisted they will always be in each others' lives. When Hoda asked, "Is it possible that there would be a full reconciliation?", Jada replied, "You know, he's getting old. You know what I'm saying he getting old who going to be there for him, Hoda it's going to be me. It's going to be me. I will be there."
