The 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' actor calls his fellow Canadian actor 'the best human in every way' after the latter appeared to brush off the former in a viral video from a 'Barbie' event.

AceShowbiz - Simu Liu has set the record straight on his relationship with Ryan Gosling after a video of their apparent awkward exchange on "Barbie" red carpet went viral. Insinuating that there is no bad blood between them, the "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" actor wrote on his Instagram Story on Thursday, July 27, "I'd beach off with this Kenadian again in a heartbeat."
The MCU star went on defending "The Notebook" star, calling him "the best human in every way." In a caption of his picture with the fellow Canadian actor, he added, "He is the best human in every way, especially when he jokes around with us on the carpet and on set, infecting all of us with his kenergy."
The 34-year-old hunk then directed the attention to a more important issue, the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. "Now let's get back to the issues that matter, like supporting our striking actors and writers fighting for fair wages!" he concluded.
Canadian TV show Etalk also shared full footage from the moment in question with audio of the two bantering to provide a clearer context of the situation, suggesting, "The Kenmance is strong."
The red carpet interaction actually took place at the "Barbie" press day in Canada in June, but it went viral after the video recently resurfaced online. In the clip, Simu and Ryan posed for photographers when the former tried to slip his hand around his co-star's waist.
The "Crazy, Stupid, Love." actor apparently wasn't too fond of the gesture, looking down at Simu's hand and stepping back as he appeared to brush off his co-star. He seemingly told the Shang-Chi depicter, "Don't hold me there, man. I mean, do you want me to touch you like that?"
Simu was heard responding, "You don't what - oh, it's too tender? Fair enough," before he removed his arm away from Ryan. The two then continued posing for photographers with their hands in their pockets.
The video sparked a debate, with one thinking that Ryan "was so mad" after Simu made the gesture. Another accused the "Blade Runner 2049" star of being "very arrogant," while another defended him as noting, "I mean you supposed to ask before you touch someone."
Ryan has not spoken out on his viral red carpet banter with Simu.
