AceShowbiz - Mod Sun is seemingly still processing his split from Avril Lavigne. Days after news broke that Avril broke up with Tyga, the "Rich Kids Ruin Everything" singer teased a new song in which he sings about being "strangers" with a former lover.
On Wednesday, June 21, the 36-year-old shared a video on Instagram that showed him walking down a street in Paris, the same city where he proposed to Avril in Mach 2022. "I remember loving you before we ever met/ Saw you on a TV then I met you through a friend," he chants.
"Then I started talking to you on the internet," the rocker, whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith, continues. "Went from strangers to lovers to strangers again."
Mod and Avril were together for less than a year. He previously admitted that he felt broken after his former fiancee called off their engagement. Taking to Instagram, he penned, "In 1 week my entire life completely changed. I just know there's a plan for it all. I'll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken."
While Mod has stayed single, Avril moved on with Tyga. The new couple appeared to confirm their relationship after being spotted locking lips at the Mugler x Hunter Schafer Party during Paris Fashion Week.
Earlier this month, however, a report suggested that Avril and Tyga's romance has fizzled out. Sources told TMZ that the pair had parted ways "a couple of weeks ago" after she returned home from her "Love Sux" tour.
According to the outlet, there were "no hard feelings" between the "Sk8er Boi" hitmaker and Tyga when it came to the split and the "whole was a mutual decision" because the relationship had just "run its course."
