The 'Just Wanna Rock' rapper, who has been teasing the project since at least 2021, gives an update on his new album while they were at The Roots Picnic festival.

Lil Uzi Vert's new album will be released soon. The "Just Wanna Rock" rapper confirmed that "The Pink Tape" will hit streaming services later in June.
On Saturday, June 3, a fan asked Uzi at The Roots Picnic festival when the emcee will drop the project. In response, the 27-year-old artist simply replied, "End of the month."
Uzi has been teasing the project since 2021. When speaking about the upcoming record, the Generation Now artist told HipHopDX, "I'm feeling really good about it... Usually, I'll pump myself up even if I don't feel really good, and I'll be like 'oh this is it.' " He added, "[I do that] just to like give myself that extra push but this time I really kind of think this is it."
In March, Uzi divulged to TMZ that they were working on the album amid their sobriety journey. "It was challenging at first. But then after probably after a month, I got used to it," the rap star, who uses they/them pronouns, said. "I thought that my creative process wasn't going to be the same because I wasn’t on drugs no more."
"It was the same. Even better. Because I could think more clear and I could actually, like, instead of my words slurring, which is kinda of cool, everything made sense," they further shared. "I didn't just make random music. How can I say? I didn't play off the beat. I actually made song with topics this time."
Uzi's longtime collaborator Don Cannon, meanwhile, recently spilled that Uzi has recorded over 600 songs for "The Pink Tape". Don explained on "My Expert Opinion" podcast, "Ain't nothing changed so he one of them guys. And it's different because we're getting all kinds of songs out of him. Might get a rock song, a real rap song, because he really rap. Might get the melodic s**t that he do. That's a fun thing."
