In the said picture, which was shared over the weekend, shirtless Gerald could be seen cozying up to his new boo. The 36-year-old former athlete hugged the 24-year-old from behind as they stuck their cheeks together. In the caption, Gerard simply left an orange heart emoji.
Rather unsurprisingly, the post didn't sit well with some fans. Roasting the footballer, one fan commented, "You'll always be shakira's ex." Someone else trolled, "Who is ? Ahh Shakira's ex?"
One user suggested Gerard to lay low following his split from the "Hips Don't Lie" hitmaker over his infidelity. "Out of respect for yourself first and for your children and in front of all the people who know about your infidelity and how you broke your family and left them traumatized at least have the decency not to post anything concerning your private life maybe you will not have all these negative comments … specially after the last song of Shakira at least have a little sense of humanity and keep your life private !!!!" the person said.
Gerard, who shares two kids with Shakira, first made things official with Clara in an Instagram snap back in January, just seven months after he and the Columbian singer announced their breakup. Despite that, the new couple was first linked after they were photographed attending a music festival in August 2022 together.
Following her breakup with Gerard, Shakira decided to leave Barcelona alongside her two kids.
