The former 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' star is pulling the plug on her 11-year marriage to the former NFL star on the heels of reports that the couple owes over $1 million in unpaid taxes.

AceShowbiz - Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann are calling it quits amid their financial struggles. The reality TV star is divorcing her husband of nearly 12 years on the heels of reports that the couple owes over $1,000,000 in unpaid taxes.

As reported by TMZ on Monday, May 8, one of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" OGs lists April 30 as the date of separation between her and the former NFL star. In the court documents, she says their marriage is "irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation."

The 44-year-old is asking for primary physical custody of their minor children and joint legal custody. She also wants spousal support and to legally restore her maiden name.

Kim and Kroy met at a charity event way back in May 2010, when he was playing with the NFL's Atlanta Falcons. They tied the knot on November 11, 2011 at their former estate in Roswell, GA.

The estranged spouses have four children together, 11-year-old Kroy Jagger, 10-year-old Kash Kade and 9-year-old twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren. Kroy also adopted Kim's daughters Brielle Biermann and Ariana Biermann, who took his last name.

Their split comes on the heels of reports that they owe $1.1 million to the IRS in unpaid taxes, interest and penalties from 2013, 2017 and 2018. They also owe the state of Georgia $15k for unpaid taxes for 2018, according to TMZ.

Back in February, there were reports that their Alpharetta, Ga. mansion, which was heavily featured on "RHOA", was in foreclosure, with Truist Bank hiring a law firm to handle the process. The couple defaulted on a $1.65 million loan they took out for the property in October 2012, according to a notice shared by Fulton County in January.

However, Kim's daughters Brielle and Ariana later denied the rumors. The girls told TMZ that the foreclosure was a "misunderstanding," adding that they had no plans on moving out and that the family was still living in the massive country club mansion.
