AceShowbiz - Soulja Boy owes his ex-girlfriend more than $200k for allegedly assaulting her in 2019. The rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, has been ordered to pay Kayla Meyers over $230,000 after a jury sided with her in a trial for assault and kidnapping case.

On Friday, April 21, a Los Angeles jury reached a verdict and found that the "Kiss Me thru the Phone" spitter engaged in the conduct with "malice, oppression or fraud." The jury awarded Kayla $1,800 for mental health expenses and another $234,100 for physical and mental pain and suffering that brings the total to $235,900.

As reported by Radar Online, Kayla sued Soulja for alleged assault and kidnapping. She said the alleged accident took place in February 2019. She said they had been dating on and off, but everything changed at a house party on February 1, 2019. Kayla said she got into a fight with her then-boyfriend's female assistant.

Kayla stated in the suit that the "Soulja Girl" rhymer approached her and beat her in the head with a gun. She added that he went on to punch her in the face and instruct his male assistant Tevin to tie her up with extension cords.

Kayla said the assistant held her hostage for six hours. She additionally claimed that Tevin demanded she performs a sexual act on him to be let go. She said she agreed in order to escape.

Kayla immediately called the police. Officers then conducted a raid on Soulja's home and found guns, which led to a probation violation in a separate case. He was taken into custody until he was released months later, but was never charged over the alleged assault on Kayla.

Kayla claimed she suffered 3 fractured ribs and a bruised face from the alleged attack. Her complaint sought unspecified damages. Soulja denied all allegations of wrongdoings and claimed any alleged injuries were caused by third parties outside his control.

The case isn't over yet as phase 2 of the trial began this week where they will make a decision on punitive damages.
