The 20-year-old forward says she will be coming to the White House with her team after previously refusing to accept the First Lady's apology for suggesting that both LSU and Iowa be invited to the White House.

AceShowbiz - Angel Reese is coming to the White House anyway. The LSU basketball star has confirmed that she will visit the 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. with her teammates despite getting "hurt" by Jill Biden's comments because she puts her team first.

During her appearance in the Friday, April 7 episode of "SportsCenter", Angel said she will be part of the "we" that goes to the White House to meet President Joe Bide and the First Lady. "In the beginning we were hurt - it was emotional because we know how hard we worked all year for everything," she said of Jill's wish to have both the LSU Tigers and the Iowa Hawkeyes at the White House.

"You don't get that experience [to go to the White House] ever," she continued, "and I know my team probably wants to go for sure and my coaches are supportive of that so I'm going to do what's best for the team and we've decided we're going to go."

"I'm a team player," the 20-year-old forward went on explaining, adding that she is the captain of the Lady Tigers. "I'm going to do what's best for the team. I'm the captain," she declared.

Previously, Angel balked at Jill's idea to invite both the winning and losing teams to the White House. Calling it a "joke," she suggested that the national champions should instead celebrate their title with former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama.

The White House later seemingly tried to walk back the First Lady's comments. "The First Lady loved watching the NCAA women's basketball championship game alongside young student athletes and admires how far women have advanced in sports since the passing of Title IX," the First Lady's Press Secretary said on social media.

Explaining FLOTUS' statements, the White House staffer added, "Her comments in Colorado were intended to applaud the historic game and all women athletes. She looks forward to celebrating the LSU Tigers on their championship win at the White House."

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has released his own statement to invite Iowa Tigers and Uconn men's basketball team, the winner of the men's championship, to the White House. He did not extend an invitation to the LSU despite his wife's wish, but praised the team for demonstrating "excellence on and off the court."

In other news, Angel has celebrated her first NCAA title win by going jewelry shopping. According to TMZ, earlier this week, the LSU star met with celeb jeweler Boo Daddy Diamonds to snag several new accessories, including a diamond tennis bracelet that's filled with VVS diamonds and 14k white gold. She also bought two diamond chokers, with one having the initial of her first name.
