While the two 'Creed III' actors appear to support Bassett at the 2023 Academy Awards, the actress is called out on the Internet for her apparent 'shady' reaction to Jamie Lee Curtis' win.

AceShowbiz - Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors publicly tried to comfort Angela Bassett following her disappointing loss at the recently concluded Academy Awards. At the live show, the two actors showed their love to the actress after she looked disappointed when losing out the Best Supporting Actress to Jamie Lee Curtis.

Jordan and Majors, who co-star in "Creed III", were on hand to present Best Cinematography, which went to "All Quiet on the Western Front", at the Sunday, March 12 ceremony. They took the moment to give a shout-out to Bassett.

"Hey auntie," Jordan began, echoing the phrase his Marvel character Killmonger says to Bassett's Queen Ramonda when they first meet in 2018's "Black Panther". Majors picked up from there, adding, "We love you."

Their shout-out came just minutes after Curtis was announced as the winner of Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once". A video quickly went viral of Bassett's reaction to the "Halloween" actress' win as she clearly looked disappointed over her loss.

The clip saw Bassett appearing on the screen with other nominees, including Hong Chau ("The Whale"), Kerry Condon ("The Banshees of Inisherin"), Stephanie Hsu ("Everything Everywhere All at Once") and Curtis. When Curtis was named as the winner, Bassett, who was nominated for her role in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", sat idly while other nominees were seen clapping and being excited for Curtis.

The viral moment drew mixed responses, with some people calling Bassett out for her apparent "shady" reaction. "Angela Bassett’s reaction hurts me," one disappointed user wrote.

Another commented, "Regardless of who won that Oscar ... Angela Bassett could have clapped for the winner. To just sit there and not clap because you didn't win …" A third Twitter user said, "Angela Bassett not standing up for Jamie Lee Curtis is kinda shady. I get you're upset for not winning but damn …"
