The 'Wipe Me Down' rapper urges the sports commentator not to create narratives after the NBA player landed in hot water for flashing gun during an Instagram Live session.

AceShowbiz - Boosie Badazz (Lil Boosie) is coming to Ja Morant's defense after Skip Bayless' comment. The "Wipe Me Down" rapper defended the basketball player after the sports columnist accused him of being a gang member.
Hopping on Twitter on Monday, March 6, the 40-year-old rapper slammed Bayless and urged him not to create narratives. "STOP @RealSkipBayless Don't build the narrative that he's a real gang member," so the emcee tweeted. "SMH HE NOT NO CRIP!! HE A PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYER who made a mistake!!"
Bayless raised the issue after the NBA player flashed a gun while at a strip club during an Instagram Live session at the weekend. In the latest episode of "Undisputed", the sports commentator questioned if Morant is actually a gang member or whether he was just acting like one.
Bayless then stated, "Remember, he's thrown up the Crip sign, I've seen him throw it up two or three times. I've probably missed some other times." He later questioned, "What does that mean? Does that mean he wants to get associated with the Crips, or he got initiated with the Crips, or he just has a dream of being a Crip?"
Bayless also wondered if Morant is "associating with the wrong people" or if he is, in fact, "part of the wrong people." Co-host Shannon Sharpe added, "You know what, Skip? You and the people you talked to might be 100 percent correct, but that makes it even more egregious. Because you got out of that."
In the meantime, the Memphis Grizzlies suspended Morant for "at least" two games after the footage from his Instagram Live went viral. In a statement, the 23-year-old athlete said, "I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I'm sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies' organization for letting you down. I'm going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being."
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said Morant understands he's made "some difficult decisions and poor choices in the past." Jenkins told AP, "He's definitely embracing the mistakes that he's made, but only time will tell. We're going to support him and we're going to hold him accountable to make those changes."
Jenkins also declined to outline the steps Morant needs to take to rejoin the team, saying, "We love him, we want what's best for him, we support him. It's going to be a difficult process but we've got a great group to get through this." He called it "an ongoing healing process."
