AceShowbiz - Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun have gone their separate ways. The "When You're Gone" hitmaker and her former fiance reportedly called it quits nearly a year after they got engaged.
Revealing the pair's relationship status was PEOPLE. "Avril and Mod Sun have been on and off for the past two months, but are no longer together as a couple," a source told the outlet. While it was unclear what led to the breakup, TMZ reported that "there was no cheating on either side."
Avril and Mod Sun have yet to address the breakup reports. However, the pair, who were publicly seen together at a pre-Grammy event celebrating Julie Greenwald and Craig Kallman in Los Angeles, still have photos and pictures of themselves on their respective Instagram accounts.
Avril and Mod Sun confirmed their engagement in April 2022 by posting photos of their "romantic proposal," which took place in Paris, France. "Oui! Je t'aime pour toujours," the "Complicated" songstress gushed in the caption at that time. She then revealed the date of the proposal, "Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022."
Mod Sun, meanwhile, offered a longer caption as he penned, "The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever til our days are done." He added, "I had a dream where I proposed in paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it."
"I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes. You're too beautiful for my words to describe. I grabbed your hand + took one last breath… I said 'will you marry me?' + she said 'yes'," the singer/rapper further gushed. "I love you Avril."
The split reports arrived just two days after Avril was seen getting cozy with Tyga. The Canadian singer/songwriter and the Compton rapper grabbed dinner with a few others at NOBU in Los Angeles on Sunday night, February 19. According to TMZ, they seemed to be hitting it off during the dinner.
In pictures obtained by the site, the pair were seen hugging it out after dinner in the parking lot as if to say goodbye, but then left together in the same car. Tyga was seen taking the seat behind the wheel, while Avril hopped in the car and sat in the passenger seat, with a female friend helping to hold the door for her.
