The actress, who has starred on the HBO series since the second season, is charged with misdemeanor retail theft after she's caught in surveillance footage taking the $28 blouse from a store in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

AceShowbiz - "Euphoria" star Chloe Cherry has landed herself in trouble with the law just as her career has started rising. The actress was charged with misdemeanor retail theft in January after she was caught shoplifting a blouse in her hometown back in December 2022.

According to a criminal complaint, the 25-year-old entered the Building Character shopping complex in downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania on December 27 and took a Moda International blouse into a dressing room. Surveillance footage shows the actress not returning the blouse, but it was not left in the dressing room either.

Building Character owner Marty Hulse tells LancasterOnline.com the blouse was stolen from Jenny Gohringer's "Jenny & the Clowder" clothing seller, whose space in Building Character is up a separate flight of stairs from most of the other vendor spaces. The employee told police Chloe paid for other items using a credit card, but she didn't pay for the blouse.

Chloe, whose real name is Elise Jones, admitted to taking the blouse and returned it to an officer, according to the complaint. Police also noted she has a previous retail theft conviction from April 25, 2015. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Bruce Roth at 2:10 P.M. on March 1.

"Most times, when we find people who are shoplifting, we don't find them in the act," Marty says. "They'll take the tag off of it and throw it somewhere. Then we see the tag, and we can find them on the camera and where it came from, and that's exactly what happened."

Chloe's rep, however, has a different account of what happened at the store. "In December, there was confusion over a blouse that wasn't properly charged to my client's credit card. In no way did she 'admit' to taking the blouse, since that was not the case," the rep tells TMZ. "This story seems to be more about a local store trading on a celebrity's name more than anything else."

Chloe emerged as a scene stealer after she was introduced as Faye during the second season of HBO's teen drama series "Euphoria" in 2022. The actress, who used to live in Willow Street but currently resides in California, has also appeared in adult films.
