In a new in-depth interview, the 'Late To Da Party' emcee also opens up about his regret for having negative impact on people with his music that glorifies violence.

AceShowbiz - NBA YoungBoy a.k.a. YoungBoy Never Broke Again has been showing his spiritual side on his new music, which apparently reflects his new-found faith. Now, in a new interview, the R&B star opens up about his plans to become a Mormon.
Speaking to Billboard, the 23-year-old talks about the positive influence the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have had on his life as of late. He says he at first declined to speak with a group of Mormon missionaries who showed up outside his home weeks before the interview was conducted.
However, the Baton Rogue native, who currently resides in the Salt Lake City area of Utah, had second thoughts and welcomed them into his home when they next showed up at his door. "I wanted help very badly. I needed a friend. And it hit me," he admits. "It was just cool to see someone with a different mindset that had nothing to do with business or money - just these wonderful souls."
The missionaries then began visiting YoungBoy's house every day, where they would engage in talks with him about The Book of Mormon and "make sure my heart is in the right space" for his official baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ the Latter-day Saint.
The rapper says he waits until his ankle monitor is removed to have his baptism ceremony. "Even when my negative thoughts come back, when I do want to tell them, 'Not today,' I just don't let nothing stop it," he says.
YoungBoy is seemingly seeking redemption for his wrongdoings. In the same interview, he confesses to having regrets for having negative impact on people with his music that glorifies violence.
"I was flooded with millions of dollars since the time I was 16, all the way to this point in my life," he explains. "I woke up one morning and was like, damn, they got me. Look at the s**t I done spoke about. Look at the s**t I put in these people ears. Man, I feel very wrong about a lot of things."
The "Outside Today" rhymer continues, "How many lives I actually am responsible for when it comes to my music? How many kids and people have got in a car or put this s**t in their ears and actually went and hurt someone? And now, I'm sitting back like, damn, I can't do it all in one day. But I promise to clean whatever I can clean. But it's gon' take time."
