The 'Grace and Frankie' actress, who revealed she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in September, feels 'so blessed' after she's informed that she can discontinue chemo.

AceShowbiz - Jane Fonda has received the "best birthday present ever." The 84-year-old actress has shared a positive update from her battle against cancer, less than a week before turning 85. Taking to her blog and social media post on Thursday, December 15, the "Grace and Frankie" star revealed her cancer is in remission.

"BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!" she captioned a photo of her joining a rally with climate activist group. "Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo."

Saying that she's "so blessed, so fortunate," she thanks "all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way." She remarked, "I am confident that it played a role in the good news."

While most of her chemo sessions were "easy," she had a "rough" moment too. She shared, "I'm especially happy because while my first 4 chemo treatments were rather easy for me, only a few days of being tired, the last chemo session was rough and lasted 2 weeks making it hard to accomplish much of anything."

Jane credited her participation in the Fire Drill Fridays rally for getting rid of the lingering after-effect of the last chemo session. "The effects wore off just as I went to D.C. for the first live, in-person Fire Drill Fridays rally. Thank heavens for that because it was a busy week," she wrote.

The two-time Oscar winner went on highlighting her environmental activism, "Besides the rally, I did some lobbying and spoke twice at the Democracy Alliance all in an effort to stop Senator Joe Manchin's side deal which climate activists call the Dirty Deal. This deal, called 'permitting reform,' seeks to fast track fossil fuel projects, does great harm to bedrock environmental protections and curtails the public's ability to have input, basically throwing marginalized communities disproportionately burdened by fossil fuel pollution under the bus."

"Please call or write your senator(s) demanding they oppose this Dirty Deal," she implored her fans, before concluding her blog post, "Thanks for doing that and thanks for sending good wishes my way. I wish everyone a joyful, healthy Holiday."

Jane revealed that she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in September. Keeping a positive attitude, she said she felt "very lucky" because it's "treatable." She added, "I'm also lucky because I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. I realize, and it's painful, that I am privileged in this."

Jane previously battled breast cancer and had a mastectomy. She shared in October that she's "come through very well and I will do so again."
