Todd Phillips takes to his Instagram page to share a picture of shirtless Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) from the upcoming sequel, 'Folie a Deux', which also stars Lady GaGa.

AceShowbiz - The first look at "Joker: Folie a Deux" has made its way out as filming of the movie has begun. To mark the first day of the production, director Todd Phillips has unveiled the first official photo of the sequel.
The "Joker" helmer took to his Instagram page on Saturday, December 10 to share the gritty image from the upcoming movie. The snap put the highlight on the titular character a.k.a. Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix).
Going shirtless, the homicidal maniac appears to receive a shave from what appears to be an orderly at Arkham Asylum. His arm is full of scars as Phoenix seems to have readopted the wiry physique that he took on to play the character in the first movie.
"Day 1. Our boy. #joker," Phillips captioned the image.
Not much is known about the "Joker" sequel since the plot is still kept under tight wraps, but it has been billed as a musical. Lady GaGa has been tapped to play Harley Quinn, Joker's henchwoman and his love interest who has been portrayed by Margot Robbie in "Suicide Squad" (2016), "Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn" (2020) and "The Suicide Squad" (2020).
The Aussie actress recently showed her support for GaGa's casting for "Joker 2". "It makes me so happy because I said from the very beginning, all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters, the way Macbeth or Batman always gets passed from great actor to great actor," she told MTV.
She added, "It's such an honour to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters who other actors get to have a go at playing. And I think she'll do something incredible with it."
Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson and Jacob Lofland will also star in the film, which has got an October 4, 2024 release date in the United States.
