The 'Rent' actor takes to his Instagram page to announce that his family 'has grown' with the arrival of their son, whom they welcomed via surrogate last week.

AceShowbiz - Anthony Rapp can now officially add a dad to his resume. The "Star Trek: Discovery" star and his fiance Ken Ithiphol have become first-time parents as they recently welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, via surrogate.

The 51-year-old actor made use of his Instagram account to share the news. "Ken and I are thrilled to share that our family has grown!" he wrote on Monday, December 5 along with a photo of him and his partner, who was holding their newborn son. Both of them flashed a smile as Anthony placed one hand on Ken's shoulder and his other hand on Ken's arm.

The "Rent" star went on revealing their son's name, complete with the right way to pronounce it. "Our son, Rai Larson Ithiphol, was brought into the world on Friday, December 2, 2022, by an incredibly generous surrogate, to whom we are eternally grateful. (Rai is pronounced like 'rye' or 'chai.')," he explained, before gushing, "We love him very much."

The pair were quickly showered with congratulations by their friends and Anthony's followers. "Wooooo congrats daddies!!!! @maestro_gourmet and I are ecstatic for you three! Play date when we're all in the same city again?" a pal of the couple commented on the post.

Another wrote, "INFINITE CONGRATULATIONS! What a lucky son!!!!" A third person reacted to the news, "Congrats ! How beautiful !!" Someone excitedly responded, "Oh my gosh. My heart is leaping out of my body. So happy for the both of you."

"Welcome little one. I hope you can feel the sea of love that surrounds you. Cannot wait to smell you," another weighed one. Someone else added, "congrats my angels I can't wait to meet him!!!"

Anthony and Ken started dating in 2016 after the yoga instructor DM'd the actor following his performance in Los Angeles. The 51-year-old Broadway star popped the question in 2019. They got engaged again in 2020 when Ken got down on one knee while the two were hiking at Boynton Canyon in Sedona, Arizona.
