AceShowbiz - It looks like Future has changed his last name to "Cash." The "Bum Bum Tam Tam" rapper, whose real name was previously Nayvadius Wilburn, appeared to confirm the news by sharing a post about the matter.

The said post, which was shared on Wednesday, November 9, read, "FUTURE LEGALLY CHANGED HIS LAST NAME FROM WILBURN TO 'CASH.' " In his own message, the 38-year-old wrote, "Bag secured. Da Biggest."

The news arrived a few months after Future sold his publishing catalog for an eight-figure payday. He reportedly sold a huge chunk of his publishing from 2004 to 2020, which comprised of over 612 songs, including hits like "Life Is Good" and "Jumpman" with Drake, "King's Dead" with Kendrick Lamar, "Selfish" with Rihanna, "Low Life" with The Weeknd, as well as "Mask Off."

Future was satisfied with the deal. However, some of his fans were not thrilled. "You should never sell a house you inherent unless you genuinely can't keep up with the payments. You NEED to be a homeowner to retire or you gonna work forever," one Twitter user said. "Selling your publishing, is shooting yourself in the foot. They gonna make 300 percent returns on future."

Echoing the sentiment, one other criticized the hip-hop star, "Future selling his publishing might be an indicator of a financial catastrophe coming cause you don't sell a catalogue like that this early…… No way."

Upon learning of the backlash, Future responded in a statement, "I put everything into my music, and I wanted to make sure these were in good hands as I thought about the next chapter of these songs." He added, "I'm proud to partner up with Rene and the team at Influence Media and send a signal that this music has timeless value. My music is my art, and these songs represent some of the most precious artwork of my career."
