After Nikita's rep blasted the 'disturbing and dangerous' situation the transgender star was allegedly placed in, a rep for Miami-Dade Corrections claims that the YouTuber 'was never placed in a men's unit.'

AceShowbiz - Nikita Dragun's recent claim that she was put in a "dangerous" situation during her brief stint in jail has been refuted by the authorities. Denying the transgender star's claim that she was placed in men's unit, a rep for Miami-Dade Corrections says that she never "made it beyond the booking process prior to release" to begin with.

"Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department (MDCR) is committed to protecting the rights of the transgender community and of all LGBTQ people," the rep said in a statement to TMZ on Thursday, November 10. "MDCR has procedures in place for the appropriate intake, housing, and medical needs of transgender inmates, and we are committed to ensuring that all inmates in our custody, including transgender persons, are treated appropriately throughout our intake, classification and placement process."

The rep further clarified, "Inmate Dragun never made it beyond the booking process prior to release; therefore, she was never placed in a men's unit. All inmates undergoing our intake process remain in an open seating (open booking) area, in the presence of correctional staff."

In fact, jail officers were apparently aware of Nikita's status as a celebrity and ensured her safety. "Additionally, inmate Dragun was placed in a holding cell by herself due to her high profile status before being released, and she was escorted by an LGBTQ officer during her time at the corrections facility," according to the rep.

Nikita, born Nikita Nguyen, was taken into custody on Monday, November 7 at luxury The Goodtime Hotel after "walking around naked by a swimming pool and dousing a police officer with water." She got busted after police responded to a report of a person being "extremely disorderly" and "causing a disturbance" at the hotel. The 26-year-old was arrested for felony battery on a police officer, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and misdemeanor battery.

When the makeup artist appeared in court earlier this week, she told the judge she was being kept in a men's unit and asked to be transferred. The judge told her that was between her and the jail.

Nikita's rep Jack Ketsoyan then doubled down on her remark, telling TMZ, "The situation with Nikita, who is legally female, being placed in a men's unit of a Florida jail is extremely disturbing and dangerous."

He added, "This decision made by the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department directly violates their protocol, which mandates that transgender inmates are classified and housed based on safety needs and gender identity."

Nikita has since been released after being placed on a $5,000 bond.
