The Dwayne Johnson-led DC movie maintains its reign for the third straight week with a major global milestone as newbie 'One Piece Film: Red' makes its debut at No. 2.

AceShowbiz - "Black Adam" has come out triumphant again at the North American box office on another sluggish weekend. The latest WB/DC superhero movie leads the chart for the third straight week with an estimated $18.5 million.

Dropping only 32.6% from last weekend, the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson-starring film has bagged a total of $137.4 million domestically. Internationally, the pic has accumulated $182.3 million for a global milestone of $300 million so far.

"Black Adam" box office dominance came as good news for Johnson, who celebrated it on Twitter on Saturday, November 5. Reacting to the prediction of ticket sales, he tweeted, "What a strong piece of #BlackAdam business to wake up to. Our film will be the #1 movie in the world for the 3rd week in a row. Makes me VERY happy. Ultimately, we should all want our theatrical business to THRIVE as we work thru and past COVID."

It's worth noting though that "Black Adam" continues to face little competition as fans await Marvel's upcoming blockbuster "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever". The sequel is predicted to lock the No. 1 position next week with box office experts predicting an opening weekend between $175 million and $200 million.

Meanwhile, this week sees "One Piece Film: Red" as the only newcomer on the top 10 of the box office. The anime film debuts at No. 2 with an estimated $9.5 million from 2,367 theaters across the states, marking another strong debut for a Japanese animation.

"Sony-owned Crunchyroll has built a very popular business for their Japanese anime," says David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research. He gushes, "It's impressive."

The new entry pushes "Ticket to Paradise" aside to No. 3 with approximately $8.5 million. The romantic comedy starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts has so far collected $46.7 million after three weeks in theaters.

Horror film "Smile" maintains its position at the fourth place with roughly $4 million. Supernatural film "Prey for the Devil" trails close behind and rounds out the top five with approximately $3.9 million.
