The 'Hips Don't Lie' songstress and the FB Barcelona player have an awkward run-in as they step out to support their nine-year-old son Milan at a baseball game after their split.

AceShowbiz - Shakira and Gerard Pique couldn't help running into each other as they co-parent their two children following their split. The former couple had an awkward run-in as they stepped out to support their son at his baseball game.

On Saturday, September 24, the Colombian singer watched as her nine-year-old son Milan played baseball in Barcelona, Spain. Also offering his moral support, Gerard came to the game, but kept his distance from his ex as he looked on from across the field.

For the weekend outing, Shakira caught the eye in a bright yellow and blue jacket over a black top and jeans with matching yellow sandals. She also wore a pair of stylish sunglasses and carried a black handbag as she accessorized with a necklace with a heart pendant. She appeared to be in a good mood as she flashed a smile while cheering on her son.

Gerard, meanwhile, kept a low profile in a black T-shirt and denim jacket, teamed with dark pants. He also wore a blue baseball cap and white sneakers. The professional soccer star looked relaxed as he rested against the post of one of the floodlights before he met up with his son at the end of the game.

Shakira and Gerard called it quits earlier this year after almost 12 years together. They share two children, Milan and 7-year-old son Sasha.

In a recent interview with Elle, Shakira opened up about her split from Gerard. "Oh, this is really hard to talk about personally, especially as this is the first time I've ever addressed this situation in an interview. I've remained quiet and just tried to process it all," she explained. "Um, and yeah, it's hard to talk about it, especially because I'm still going through it, and because I'm in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation."

The 45-year-old pop star added that she has struggled with "protecting" her children amid media intrusion. "And so it's been tough not only for me, but also for my kids. Incredibly difficult," she lamented. "I have paparazzi camping outside, in front of my house, 24/7. And there's not a place where I can hide from them with my kids, except for my own house. You know, we can't take a walk in the park like a regular family or go have an ice cream or do any activity without the paparazzi following us. So it's hard. And I've tried to conceal the situation in front of my kids."
