The Houston female emcee will host and perform on October 15, while Kendrick Lamar and Willow Smith are also announced as early NBC sketch series' season 48 musical guests.

AceShowbiz - "Saturday Night Live" is returning for its 48th season and the iconic NBC sketch comedy show has revealed its first set of celebrity hosts and musical guests. It has been unveiled that Megan Thee Stallion will pull double duty in the show's upcoming season.

On Tuesday, September 20, NBC announced that the long-running sketch series will return on October 1 at 11:30 P.M. ET with Miles Teller as host. This marks the "Top Gun: Maverick" actor's first time hosting the show. During the episode, Kendrick Lamar will perform.

As for Meg, she will do double duty as host and musical guest for the October 15 episode. Expressing her excitement, the "Hot Girl Summer" raptress turned to her Instagram page to alert her fans. "Hosting andddd performingggg REAL HOT GIRL S**T @nbcsnl tune in ALL HOTTIES," so the Houston femcee wrote.

This will be Megan's second time taking the "SNL" stage. The 27-year-old Grammy-winning hip-hop artist previously appeared as musical guest to perform "Savage" and "Don't Stop" in 2020.

Joining Miles, Megan and Kendrick was Brendan Gleeson, who will host on October 8 with Willow Smith as the musical guest.

The season 48 host casting news comes as "SNL" is navigating a major shakeup. Longtime series regulars Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson, Aidy Bryant and Kyle Mooney and Pete Davidson exited the show after the season 47 finale.

Then on September 1, it's confirmed that "SNL" was also losing Melissa Villasenor and Alex Moffat as well as featured player Aristotle Athari. Unexpectedly, a few hours before Tuesday's hosting announcement, Chris Redd announced his departure from "SNL" after five seasons.

"Being a part of 'SNL' has been the experience of a lifetime. Five years ago, I walked into 30 Rock knowing that this was an amazing opportunity for growth," the 37-year-old said in a statement. "Now, with friends who have become family and memories I will cherish forever, I'm grateful to [creator] Lorne Michaels and to the entire 'SNL' organization. From the bottom of my heart, I can't thank you all enough."
