AceShowbiz - Tory Lanez is facing serious issues after allegedly attacking August Alsina. The "Say It" spitter has been dropped from "Fall Back in Love Comedy & Music Jam" tour as tour creator Rip Micheals said that he witnessed the rapper sucker-punched August in the face.
On Monday, September 19, Rip himself confirmed August's claims that Tory assaulted him after the Chicago show. "At this moment we would have to proceed without [Tory] because we want to make sure that every person in that audience has a great time and a great feeling and that synergy of each artist enjoying themselves and having a great time is what it's all about," the cast member of "Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'n Out" told TMZ.
Rip further explained that while "there was no fight," August was "sucker-punched by Tory Lanez." The 40-year-old comedian added, "So, that's pretty much what..yeah..I was there. It was when he was exiting the building. It was just straight, like more of an assault-type thing."
"So what happened is that if you look at the video, August didn't speak to him because he was like, he talks a lot of stuff about him online, whatever that is. So he's like, well, you know, keep that same energy."
Rip continued, "I guess Tory felt away and then Tory wanted to come back with all his bodyguards and then followed him outside when August was talking to him all politely like, 'Hey man, listen and respect, but you know, if you want to talk like, man, we could talk.' But, he was surrounded by Tory Lanez security and he turned his head. That's when, you know, Tory Lanez just hit him."
"I talked to August and I've talked to Tory as well. Tory seems very apologetic because, you know, he didn't want to mess up," Rip shared. As for August, Rip said that he "couldn't perform the other day because he had to go get his lip fixed and he went to urgent care and he got fixed up." The funnyman offered more details, "But [August] is healing well from stitches and everything like that. So he apologized to his fans for not making it to the next show."
According to August, the alleged altercation happened on Saturday night, September 17. Alongside an image of him sporting bloodied jaw in an elevator, the crooner detailed, "As I'm exiting the building after the show last night, A 4'11 sized leprechaun ran down on me w/ 8 oversized security n***as, whom I greeted each individually upon their walk up as they tried to press me." He further stressed that he was alone, saying, "Whole time, I'm one deep. No security."
August also said that he believes Tory hit him after he ignored Tory's attempt to shake his hand. In the post, August explained that he refused to shake Tory's hand as he's told by his doctor to "shake as less hands as possible due to corona, & monkeypox."
Responding to the accusations, Tory said in an Instagram Story, "I don't know what everybody talking about…" The Canadian rapper further claimed that he has "been in the studio…," adding that he's "not in anything negative" and that he's "been working on my myself... and being a better person."
Further maintaining his innocence, Tory told DJ Akademiks that "nothing happened" between him and August. "The Color Violet" spitter said in a podcast interview with the social media star, "I don't even know what the kid is talking about."
As for now, the case is being investigated by the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office. "We are aware of the allegations that the defendant attacked artist August Alsina and are investigating these claims," a statement from the D.A.'s office read. "The allegations are serious and will be thoroughly examined."
