AceShowbiz - Paul Wesley and Ines de Ramon are heading for splitsville. The couple has decided to go their separate ways after more than four years together, bringing their three-year marriage to an end.

A spokesperson for the couple confirms their split to PEOPLE, noting that it's a "mutual" decision. The rep says the actor and the jewelry professional "have separated" and have been living apart for several months. "The decision to separate is mutual and occurred five months ago. They request privacy at this time," the rep adds.

Paul and Ines were first romantically linked in June 2018, when they were seen holding hands after a dinner date in New York City. They made their relationship Instagram official the next month as he shared a group picture of the couple at a Montauk wedding with fellow guests and actors, Jessica Szohr and Nina Dobrev.

In February 2019, they sparked secret marriage rumors after they were spotted wearing matching rings in New York. At the time, they rocked their gold bands on their ring fingers while walking around the West Village neighborhood.

While the pair never confirmed they had tied the knot, Paul's former "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina seemingly confirmed the news during a podcast appearance in June as she referred to Ines as Paul's "wife."

"We hang out a lot. We're really good friends. I love his wife. It's so funny how time changes everything because I never thought he would be one of my best friends," the 33-year-old actress said at the time.

Rumors of Paul and Ines' split started to swirl last month after the 40-year-old actor was spotted hanging out with model Natalie Kuckenburg in New York. He ditched his wedding band during the outing.

Paul was previously married to actress Torrey DeVitto, whom he started dating in 2007 after they acted together in "Killer Movie". They married in a private ceremony in New York City in April 2011, but called it quits after only two years. In July 2013, they filed for divorce, which was finalized in December of the same year.
