This year's Governors Award, meanwhile, goes to Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, which aims to promote gender balance and foster inclusion in the entertainment industry.

AceShowbiz - The 74th Emmy Awards continues to hand out more trophies to the winners. Taking place at the Microsoft Theatre on Monday, September 12, the award-giving event marked a big night for Lizzo as her show "Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls" won Outstanding Competition Program.

It marks the first Emmy for the "About Damn Time" hitmaker, who donned a fiery red, custom Giambattista Valli creation. The win also ended a four-year winning streak in the category for "RuPaul's Drag Race".

Lizzo looked emotional as she walked up the steps of stage to accept the award. "I wanna say thank you to the Emmys and the Emmys voters first of all," Lizzo started her speech. "I'm very emotional. The trophy is nice but my emotion is for these people who are on this stage with me-the stories they share. They're not that unique, they just don't get the platform to tell these stories-let's just tell more stories."

Later, Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media was honored with this year's Governors Award. The organization is recognized for its dedication to promoting gender balance and fostering inclusion throughout the entertainment industry.

The next winner of that night was Mike White who took home the award for Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for "The White Lotus". This was the third Emmys for the HBO series, which already won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Jennifer Coolidge and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Murray Bartlett.

This year's Emmys is indeed a big night for "The White Lotus". Adding another win, Mike White was named as the winner of Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Joining the list of honorees at the 2022 Emmys was Jerrod Carmichael. His show "Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel" took home the award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.

Jason Sudeikis was also among the winners at this year's ceremony. The actor won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance as the titular character on Apple+'s "Ted Lasso". It is the actor's second consecutive win for the category.

"I'm truly, truly surprised and flattered," Sudeikis said in his speech. The actor beat out fellow nominees Bill Hader ("Barry"), Nicholas Hoult ("The Great"), Steve Martin ("Only Murders in the Building"), Martin Short ("Only Murders in the Building") and Donald Glover ("Atlanta").
