In response to the 'Fantasea' raptress' engagement claims, the former co-host of 'The Joe Budden Podcast' sets the record straight in an episode of his newest podcast show, 'New Rory and Mal'.

AceShowbiz - Podcaster Jamil Clay a.k.a. Mal has reacted to Azealia Banks' claims that she's engaged to him. He addressed the matter in an episode of his newest podcast show, "New Rory & Mal".

Shutting down the claims, Mal said, "Sorry to let you guys down, Azealia [Banks] and I are not dating." He went on to stress, "I did not propose to Azealia."

The former co-host of "The Joe Budden Podcast" also added that he and the "Anna Wintour" raptress have limited interaction with each other. "We don't text often. Once or twice every four months, maybe," he explained, before adding, "I don't even want to be on my platform lying."

He continued, "No, Azealia and I did not ever, ever have sex. That is my homegirl, my people, that's it."

Mal's denial arrived after Azealia claimed in a couple of Instagram Stories that they had been "secretly dating" for the past year. "@mal_bytheway and I have been secretly dating one another for the past year. I've decided to come out of the Mal closet," she wrote in one post.

In a follow-up Story, the "Fantasea" femcee added, "@mal_bytheway proposed to me today with a squash, a seeded watermelon and a jar of bleaching cream. I cried and said yes." It remains to be seen if Azealia was joking around or not.

Prior to this, the musician was engaged to Ryder Ripps. She announced their engagement in February 2021, writing on social media, "I just got engaged k**ts. I'm crying …. I'm Jewish now. MAZEL TOV B***HES! WE IN HERE…. YERRRRRRR." The raptress, who said that she would be converting to Judaism before the wedding, added, "I said yes!!! @ryder_ripps and I are engaged !!!!!!" alongside a picture her ring.

Their engagement, however, didn't last long. Just days after the announcement, Azealia revealed that their relationship fizzled out. "Lol, I just dumped @ryder_ripps. He's too insecure for the wildly creative she-wolf in me," so she shared. Despite the split, she claimed she's keeping the "menorah ring" that Ryder gave her when he popped the question. "The heirloom is mine. The Jewcy diva lives on," she said.
