Calling the reports 'so interesting,' the Golden Globe nominee laments her 'great disadvantage' as she reveals that she was paid 'so much less' than what was reported.

AceShowbiz - Bryce Dallas Howard may be one of the icons of the "Jurassic World" franchise along with Chris Pratt, but she didn't receive the same recognition as her co-star. The actress has weighed in on the reports of the pay gap between her and Pratt, revealing that she was paid "so much less" than the Owen Brady depicter for "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom".
In 2018, Variety reported that Howard was paid $2 million less than Pratt to appear in the sequel. The Gwen Stacy in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man 3" reportedly received $8 million, while the "Parks and Recreation" alum earned $10 million.
However, in a new interview with Insider, Howard claimed that the pay gap was, in fact, larger. "The reports were so interesting because I was paid so much less than the reports even said, so much less," the 41-year-old said.
Lamenting her "great disadvantage," the daughter of filmmaker Ron Howard shared, "When I started negotiating for 'Jurassic,' it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a great disadvantage. And, unfortunately, you have to sign up for three movies, and so your deals are set."
Howard said that she discussed the pay disparity with Pratt and he agreed to receive equal pay on other franchise opportunities that were not already contractually binding. "What I will say is that Chris and I have discussed it, and whenever there was an opportunity to move the needle on stuff that hadn't been already negotiated, like a game or a ride, he literally told me, 'You guys don't even have to do anything. I'm gonna do all the negotiating. We're gonna be paid the same, and you don't have to think about this, Bryce,' " she divulged.
The "As You Like It" star commended Pratt for how he handled the issue. She gushed over the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor, "And I love him so much for doing that. I really do, because I've been paid more for those kinds of things than I ever was for the movie."
Howard isn't the first actress who has spoken up about the pay disparity in Hollywood. In 2019, Ellen Pompeo admitted that she almost quit "Grey's Anatomy" after learning that her co-star Patrick Dempsey was being paid almost twice what she was when the show started.
In the same year, Michelle Williams said she was "paralyzed in feelings of futility" after it was disclosed that her "All the Money in the World" co-star Mark Wahlberg earned $1.5 million for re-shoots for the movie, while she only earned $1,000.
