Making use of his social media account, the former member of the band shares an intimate black-and-white video of himself singing the group's 2014 hit song.

AceShowbiz - Zayn Malik clearly knows how to bring on a truly nostalgic moment. The former member of One Direction has sent Directioners into a frenzy after he uploaded a cover of the group's song.

On Monday, August 15, the 29-year-old crooner turned to his Instagram page to share a black-and-white clip of him sitting and singing an acapella version of One Direction's 2014 hit "Night Changes", which is now the boy band's No. 1 song on Spotify. His arm tattoos were on full display as he wore overalls and had his long hair pulled back with a bandana while crooning the tune with deep and strong vocals.

Although he didn't include a caption with the post, Zayn's fans were quick to respond to the video with excited messages. "Omg my ears are blessed," one fan wrote while another revealed that they were "crying." A third shared, "I'm singing right along with you" and a fourth asked if the song choice had a hidden meaning.

"zayn singing 1d songs in 2022 is literally the best thing could ever happen," someone gushed, with a separate Instagram user exclaiming, "NIGHT CHANGES!?? YOUR VOICE!??? YOU!????" One person asked, "What are you telling us???"

Zayn's new video arrived over seven years since he left One Direction after being with the band since 2010, when they were put together on the British version of "The X Factor". "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined," he wrote at the time of his departure from the group. "But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologize to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart."

After parting ways with the group, Zayn gave a brutally honest take on One Direction's music. "That's not music I would listen to," he shared in a 2015 interview with The FADER, adding, "As much as I was in that band, and I loved everything that we did, that's not music that I would listen to." Since then, the "Pillowtalk" hitmaker has released three solo studio albums.
