AceShowbiz - Is R. Kelly going to be a dad again while he's in prison? Not so fast, according to his lawyer. After R. Kelly's fiancee Joycelyn Savage dropped a bombshell claim that she's pregnant with the disgraced singer in her upcoming book, his lawyer has spoken up to issue a denial.
According to R. Kelly's attorney Jennifer Bonjean, Joycelyn "is certainly not pregnant with R. Kelly's child." The lawyer additionally tells TMZ that Joycelyn's book is not a tell-all memoir and adds, "People are just insane."
Joycelyn made the shocking claim in her new tell-all memoir "Love and Joy of Robert". In it, she wrote that she's currently several months pregnant with R. Kelly's baby and that she learned she was expecting after the incarcerated singer sent her an engagement ring.
"Months later, I began experiencing severe morning sickness and was unsure what was wrong with my body. I thought I had contracted COVID-19, but the most amazing news of all was that I was expecting," so she penned.
Joycelyn also admitted that she's disappointed R. Kelly won't be there to see his child's birth. "Robert is extremely excited about the news that I'm having a baby and feels sad that Robert won't be here with us," she lamented, adding an ultrasound photo and quotes about joy.
As to how her family reacts to this revelation, a lawyer for Joycelyn's parents says they're still processing the news.
Elsewhere in the book, Joycelyn talked about her first meeting with R. Kelly and other aspects of her relationship with him. She branded Azriel Clary, one of R. Kelly's other girlfriends as "the other girl," alleging that Azriel became bipolar and eventually "smeared my name all over social media" after returning to her family.
Joycelyn previously made headlines after she claimed that she had gotten engaged to R. Kelly. In a letter to a judge asking for leniency prior to his sentencing, she called herself the 55-year-old 's fiancee. "I'm not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be," she told the judge.
She went on describing her relationship with R. Kelly, whom she called by his real name Robert Sylvester Kelly, "My relationship with Robert is amazing. He's the best thing that's ever happened to me. We have a very special connection and are deeply in love. I still support Robert to this day because I love him and will always be here to support him."
The 26-year-old continued, "Robert is not the monster that the government has described him to be." She went on defending him, "The things that have been said about him, with me and other women being held against our will is absolutely untrue. It's the complete opposite of who he is and what my relationship is like with Robert."
Regardless Joycelyn's plea to the judge, R. Kelly was eventually sentenced to 30 years in jail on June 29 for masterminding a scheme to entice and sexually exploit young aspiring singers and underage children.
