The former star of 'Hung' is also under investigation for DUI and hit-and-run for the terrifying car accident that left her in an 'extreme critical condition.'

AceShowbiz - Anne Heche is still fighting for her life. The former "Hung" star is still "in a coma" after a fiery car accident that left her in an "extreme critical condition" despite reports claiming that she's already in "stable condition."

A spokesperson for the 53-year-old actress said in a statement on Monday, August 8, "Over the weekend a representative stated that Anne was in stable condition but that information was inaccurate. She has always remained in critical condition, slipping into a coma following the accident."

Offering more details of Anne's current condition, the spokesperson said, "At this time she is in extreme critical condition. She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is currently being treated at the Grossman Burn Center."

Also on Monday, it's reported that Anne is under investigation for misdemeanor DUI and hit-and-run, according to LAPD Officer Annie Hernandez. Investigators obtained a warrant for a blood draw on the day of the incident.

According to Annie, the investigators are still awaiting those results. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office. As for Anne, she has not been able to meet with investigators yet as a result of her severe injuries, said her spokesperson.

Anne was in a blue Mini Cooper on Friday, August 5 that crashed into a Mar Vista home rented by Lynne Mishele. The residence caught fire, resulting in the Emmy-winning actress suffering burns from the incident. She was then intubated while hospitalized.

"The vehicle was heading east on Preston Way at a high rate of speed, entered the T intersection at Preston Way and Walgrove Ave, ran off the road and collided with the residence in the 1700 block of Walgrove," a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said in a statement. "The vehicle became engulfed in flames and the driver was transported to a local hospital by LAFD."

As news broke of the accident, many of Anne's fans showered social media with support for the star. Also sending love were her exes, James Tupper and Thomas Jane.

Alongside a picture of Anne and their 13-year-old son Atlas, James, who dated Anne for more than 10 years before their January 2018 split, wrote on Instagram, "Thoughts and prayers for this lovely woman, actress and mother tonight. We love you."

As for Thomas, who dated Anne in 2019, he shared a statement to Daily Mail, crediting Anne as "one of the true talents of her generation." Anne's former "Hung" co-star also told the outlet that he offers his "thoughts and prayers."
