According to a new report, the streaming giant is 'determined' to tie in the release of the upcoming show and 'The Crown' season 5 so they do not get overshadowed by the Duke of Sussex's upcoming autobiography.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix documentary series is reportedly being timed for release with "The Crown". Netflix, according to Page Six, is "determined" to tie in the releases so the shows do not get overshadowed by the Duke of Sussex's upcoming autobiography.

"There is a lot to organize and a lot of things at play here. Netflix wants to make sure they get in there and don't get scooped," a source added. "(Netflix executives) knew the book was coming out, which is why they wanted the series this year. They don't want to hold off any longer."

Harry and his ex-actress wife have been working on their Netflix content for more than a year after signing a reported muti-million dollar deal with the firm in 2021. Executives reportedly hope to show their docuseries shortly after the fifth season of "The Crown" airs on the streamer in November.

Page Six added Netflix and representatives for the Sussexes did not return calls for comment. The site has already reported the couple, who have children 3-year-old Archie and 1-year-old Lilibet, is believed to want the series to launch in 2023.

The fifth season of "The Crown" will see Queen Elizabeth being played by Imelda Staunton, who is best known as Dolores Umbridge in the "Harry Potter" films. Harry's mother Princess Diana will be portrayed by actress Elizabeth Debicki, while the series is understood to include moments surrounding Diana's death at the age of 36 in a Paris car crash in August 1997.

Harry's memoir is due out in autumn, but it's believed that it is set to be published before "The Crown" airs. The book, which was being written with JR Moehringer, is believed to cover the Duke's childhood and time in the military and will include stories said to be set to embarrass the royal family.
