Despite calling it quits with her fellow comedian boyfriend, the former 'Chelsea Lately' host finds it comforting 'that I am still loved and love this man the way the sun loves the moon and the moon loves the sun.'

AceShowbiz - Chelsea Handler's fans are possibly nursing a collective heartbreak now. The comedian announced on Monday, July 18 that she and her boyfriend Jo Koy have called it quits after almost one year of dating.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Chelsea posted along with it a video which she and Jo recorded in advance for their one-year anniversary. She wrote in the caption, "In anticipation of celebrating our first year together, Jo and I recorded this video early, but as many of you have noticed, it is with a heavy heart to announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship right now."

Addressing her fans, the 47-year-old continued, "I know many of you were invested in our love, and I wanted to express to you how much that meant to both of us. How much it still means. And how much I now believe in love for each one of us. This man blew my heart open with love and because of him, my life experience has changed forever."

Hinting that their split is amicable, she stated, "To be loved and adored by @jokoy has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. He renewed my faith in men, in love, in being 100% who I am, and I've never been more optimistic for the future."

Chelsea went on gushing about her now-ex-boyfriend, "Jo- you blew my creativity open, my lust for working hard again, being on the road again, and you reminded me who I was and always have been, and my feet have never been more firmly planted in the ground."

Remaining optimistic, she said, "This is not an ending. It's another beginning, and it's a comfort to know that I am still loved and love this man the way the sun loves the moon and the moon loves the sun. YOUR PERSON IS COMING."

"So, please continue to root for both of us, because you never know what life will bring," she implored to her fans, before showing her support for Jo's upcoming movie as concluding, "and let's first start by all going to the theater on August 5th to buy tickets to Jo's new movie EASTER SUNDAY and Filipino PRIDE! Let's go!"

According to TMZ, Chelsea and Jo decided to end their romance nearly a month ago, just before her guest-hosting gig on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". Their work schedules are allegedly to blame for their split as Chelsea is gearing up to head out on a comedy tour for the remainder of the year while her fellow comedian ex will be in Los Angeles, promoting his film "Easter Sunday".

However, the former couple's inner circle is allegedly rooting for them to get back together after their busy schedules calm down. A source similarly tells PEOPLE, "Their friends are hoping they can still work it out. But if anything, it's clear their relationship has changed them both for the better."
