The 'Judas and the Black Messiah' star says in an interview that he will not be reprising his role as W'Kabi in the upcoming Marvel sequel due to scheduling conflicts.

AceShowbiz - It's sad but it's true, Daniel Kaluuya will not be in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever". The British actor, who is perhaps best known for his role in Jordan Peele's sleeper hit "Get Out", has confirmed that he will not be returning for the Marvel sequel.

Jacqueline Coley of Rotten Tomatoes first tweeted the news on Wednesday, July 13. According to the tweet, the 33-year-old could not reprise his role as W'Kabi in "Black Panther 2" due to scheduling conflicts with his new movie "Nope".

"Fresh from my NOPE interview with Daniel Kaluuya he did not reprise his role in #BlackPanther2 due to his schedule conflicts w/ #NOPE! It's official he's not in #BlackPantherWakandaForever," read the tweet.

When a follower asked, "isn't 'scheduling conflicts' the professional Hollywood way of saying they don't vibe with the project for a number of reasons and 'don't want to return?'," Coley assured it wasn't just an excuse. "No really they filmed at the same time," she replied.

Kaluuya played W'Kabi, the confidant and best friend of the late Chadwick Boseman's Wakanda heir T'Challa, who spearheaded security for the Border Tribe, in "Black Panther" (2018). But prior to being a part of MCU, he achieved a career breakthrough after starring in "Get Out" (2017), a horror hit which marks Peele's directorial debut.

Kaluuya garnered a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in "Get Out", which is why it's only appropriate that he chose to work together with Peele again in "Nope" instead of appearing in supporting role in "Black Panther 2".

In "Nope", Kaluuya stars alongside Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun among others. The plot follows residents of an isolated town who witness a mysterious and abnormal event. Filming began in June 2021 in Santa Clarita, California and the movie is set to arrive in U.S. theaters on July 22.

As for "Black Panther 2", it would explore the world and characters of the first film as a way to honor the legacy that Boseman helped build without recasting the role of T'Challa following the actor's passing. Still directed by Ryan Coogler, it has Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett among the returning cast members. The movie is due out in the U.S. on November 11.
