From Madonna to Katy Perry, these are the list of celebrities who expressed their frustration over the Roe v. Wade repeal that made abortion illegal for millions of American women.

AceShowbiz - This year's Independence Day was bittersweet for many U.S. citizens. While they were supposed to be enthusiastic about the Fourth of July celebrations, people were still left upset by the Roe v. Wade overturn that made abortion illegal for millions of American women.
A number of celebrities were also disheartened by the Supreme Court's decision, prompting them to protest the ruling online. Some of them even "canceled" this year's America's birthday instead of commemorating it with a feast and fireworks.
Here are list of celebrities who "canceled" the Fourth of July celebrations in the wake of Roe v. Wade overturn.
1. Madonna
Madonna wasn't playing when she said she has been "plunged into deep despair" by the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade ruling. On Monday, July 4, the "Material Girl" singer once again expressed her frustration as she called for "a revolution."
Making use of Instagram, the 63-year-old shared a black and white video featuring a woman being dragged by armed guards. "This is what life looks like if you're a woman in America," the pop icon stressed in the caption. "It's not Independence Day For Us. Let's start A Revolution!"
2. Jessica Chastain
Jessica Chastain was among Hollywood stars who took to social media to voice her frustration regarding the Roe v. Wade repeal. "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" leading lady turned to Instagram on July 4 to share a picture of herself sticking both middle fingers up.
In the accompanying message, the 45-year-old Oscar-winning actress simply wrote, "Happy 'Independence' Day from me and my reproductive rights." The post has since garnered more than 490,000 likes.
3. Padma Lakshmi
Padma Lakshmi went all out when throwing shades at the Supreme Court's decision. Taking to Instagram, the "Top Chef" host showed off a big white cake bearing the words "Separate Church & State", which was illustrated by rows of cherries on top and blueberries on the bottom.
"Not much to celebrate this 4th, I'm afraid. Let's just hope everyone can keep safe and peaceful today and that soon our nation veers away from this precipice," she captioned it. "No matter what, we'll keep fighting for the day where all humans have the same rights, at least of their own person and body, have privacy to make their own choices and to love whom they love and live in peace. #notahappy4th #fruitfromthegarden."
4. Leslie Jones
Leslie Jones told her online devotees that she would wish them a Happy Fourth of July. However, knowing that women's rights getting stripped in the United States, the Patty Tolan of "Ghostbusters" was hesitant to do it.
"Fourth of July is supposed to stand for independence and how our country fought for freedom... but this ain't the land of the free," the comedienne said in an Instagram video. "Y'all have taken away women's right. Your trying to take away voter's rights. You're not representing anything that this holiday is supposed to be about."
5. Paris Jackson
Also condemning the overturning of Roe v. Wade was Paris Jackson. The model/singer daughter of the late Michael Jackson greeted her social media followers with a "Happy National Genocide Day" on Monday, July 4.
"Happy National Genocide Day a.k.a. Independence Day everybody," the 24-year-old said in a clip. "Certainly not Independence for any indigenous people or anyone with a uterus for that matter, shoutout to the Supreme Court."
6. Lizzo
Lizzo is doing more than just lashing out at the Supreme Court. During the holiday weekend, the "About Damn Time" hitmaker pledged to donate proceeds from her shapewear brand Yitty to Abortion Funds.
"@yitty 100% OF NET PROCEEDS TO @abortionfunds ALL WEEKEND LONG. JULY 2-4. Celebrating freedom on our terms. Liberating Every Damn Body," the femcee declared. Days prior, the musician announced on Instagram Story, "I'm pledging $500K from my upcoming tour to Planned Parenthood and Abortion Rights." She added, "@livenation agreed to match -- to make it 1 MILLION dollars."
7. Zooey Deschanel
Zooey Deschanel also attached her name in the list of celebrities who are against Roe's repeal. Posting a photo of herself wearing a T-shirt with "Pro Roe 1973" printed on the front, the "500 Days of Summer" actress wrote, "For when you want to wish America a happy birthday, but also want her to do better ^."
"To quote RBG, 'The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a woman's life, to her well-being and dignity. It is a decision she must make for herself. When Government controls that decision for her, she is being treated as less than a fully adult human responsible for her own choices,' " she continued. "Let this be a hopeful reminder that together, we have the power to reclaim our right to choose."
8. FINNEAS
Being a man doesn't stop FINNEAS from speaking up about women's rights. Joining other female stars who expressed their heartbreak, the Oscar-winning singer-songwriter took to Twitter to subtly reacted to the Roe v. Wade overturn.
"4th of July is my favorite day of the year," the older brother of Billie Eilish wrote on Twitter. "Not sure if there's anything worth celebrating this year though."
9. Kim Kardashian
Like other celebrities, Kim Kardashian called for an end to the American holiday following the Supreme Court's decision. "The Kardashians" star reposted a message from @bitton on Instagram Story that read, "4th of July has been canceled due to a shortage of Independence. Sincerely, Women."
Kim was not the only one who re-shared the note. Her mom Kris Jenner and her older sister Kourtney Kardashian also reposted the message on their respective Instagram accounts.
10. Katy Perry
Katy Perry has let everyone know what's more important than lighting up "Fireworks" on the Fourth of July. The "American Idol" judge made a reference to her unofficial anthem of Independence Day when weighing on the Roe v. Wade ruling.
" 'Baby you're a firework' is a 10," the pop star penned on Twitter. "But women in the US have fewer rights than an actual sparkler smh."
