The 'Off the Grid' emcee reveals his staggering seven-figure performance fee when correcting a hip-hop Instagram account's list of artists' performance fees.

AceShowbiz - Booking Kanye West for a show apparently costs a fortune. The "Gold Digger" rapper has revealed his staggering seven-figure performance fee when debunking a claim that he charged $1 million for a performance.

On Tuesday, July 5, Ye responded to RapThoughtsDaily's Instagram post about several artists' performance fee. Catching wind of the post, the Atlanta native contacted the Instagram account via DM and asked to correct it as he claimed that he actually charges much more than $1 million.

"Please change this," the "Yikes" hitmaker wrote to the account, adding, "my performance fee is $8 million." The account also noted in the caption of its post, "KANYE MESSAGED ITS $8Million not $1 Million," and shared a screenshot of Ye's message to them via its Story.

Previously, the hip-hop Instagram account put together a list of artists' performance fees, which included the likes of Joey Bada$$, JID, Denzel Curry, Vince Staples, Kid Cudi and Tyler, the Creator. According to the account, Drake's show costs $500,000, while Young Thug charges triple at $1.5 million per show.

Ye's claim about his performance fee lines up with TMZ's report earlier this year when the Yeezy designer dropped out of Coachella. According to the report, the 45-year-old star gave up an $8 million payday by bowing out of the festival. The festival was also reportedly slated to dish out about $500,000 in production costs so Ye could build the proper stage he had in mind.

With his staggering price tag, it's no wonder that Kanye has made Forbes' list of worldwide billionaires. According to the magazine, per April this year, the Grammy Award-winning artist's net worth is $2 billion, making him the wealthiest musician in the world.

The ex-husband of Kim Kardashian first made it into the annual list in 2020. At the time, he claimed that he's worth more than $3 billion, though the magazine begged to differ and estimated his net worth at closer to $1.3 billion based on their own appraisal.
