Speaking for the first time about the romantic relationship between his offspring and his fellow comedian's child, the 'Big Momma's House' star jokes that he'll make Eddie pay for their kids' wedding.

AceShowbiz - Martin Lawrence has finally broken his silence about his daughter Jasmin dating Eddie Murphy's son Eric. Stopping by "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Friday, June 17, the 57-year-old spoke up for the first time about the surprising connection between him and the "Saturday Night Live" alum due to their kids' romantic relationship.
During the sit-down, host Jimmy Kimmel jokingly asked Martin if he and Eddie secretly hoped that their children would create "some kind of comedy super-baby." Laughing at the hilarious idea, the father of three said that he has not thought that far.
"We haven't talked about it," Martin replied. In fact, the funnyman said that he tries to stay out of his daughter's business. He explained, "We haven't…we kind of just stay out of their business and let them do their own thing and respect their thing."
However, Martin is stricter when it comes to financial thing. Speaking of who among the famous fathers who will pay if their kids are to get married, the "Bad Boys for Life" actor joked, "I'm gonna try to get Eddie to pay for it."
News of Jasmin Lawrence and Eric Murphy's relationship first caught media's attention in July 2021. At the time, Jasmin posted a loving birthday tribute to her boyfriend on Instagram. "Happy birthday, my love!" she wrote along with sweet pictures of her and her boo. She added, "I'm so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side. Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories! I love you so much!!"
Prior to that, Eric had declared his love for Jasmin via the photo-sharing platform. "Head over heels in LOVE with YOU @jasmin_lawrence," so he captioned some snaps of him with his girlfriend shared in June, adding four red heart emojis. He dubbed her "my other half" and added "equally yoked" as well "I love you" in the hashtags. She replied in the comments, "I LOVE YOU."
Eddie has not made a public comment on his son's relationship with Martin's daughter. The two comedians have worked together in the 1992 comedy "Boomerang" and in director Ted Demme's 1999 comedy "Life".
