AceShowbiz - Martin Lawrence has spoken out about rumors that he suffered from a stroke. During his stand-up performance over the weekend at Detroit's Little Caesars Arena, the actor jokingly addressed the matter.
"Motherf**kers talking about me and s**t," he told the crowd in the Friday, August 30 show of his "Y'all Know What It Is! Tour". "Talking about I had a stroke and s**t. Does this look like a motherf**ker that had a stroke?"
The "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" actor then showed off his agility by hopping across the stage. "That look like a motherf**ker that had a stroke? I be strokin,' " he continued. "Then they talking about I'm talking slow and lethargic and all that..I'm probably high."
It wasn't the first time Martin shut down the stroke speculations. He previously denied the claims when he stopped by Hot 97's "Ebro in the Morning" back in June.
"I'm fine. I'm in Gods hands. I'm blessed. I'm glad to be waking up everyday and everything. No need for people to be concerned," he said at the time. "I'm healthy as hell. Stop the rumors."
Rumors of his health issues first sparked when people started noticing that he looked somehow disoriented in a few interviews while promoting "Bad Boys: Ride or Die".
Despite his strong denial, some fans apparently still believed that Martin had a stroke before. "That definitely looks like a n***a that had a stroke but the OG back," one said on X, formerly known as Twitter. Another agreed, noting, "He doesn't want to come off weak. He doesn;t even sound like himself either."
A third commenter added, "Me (Instantly): Yes. You look and sound like you had a stroke." Someone else wrote, "Right how you gonna say 'Mf saying I'm taking slow' while talking slow."
