The 'Light Switch' hitmaker makes the announcement of the exciting collaboration through a playful TikTok video, in which he pretends to call the K-Pop star on the phone.

AceShowbiz - Charlie Puth has a treat for fans. The "Attention" hitmaker surprised fans by announcing a new collaboration with BTS (Bangtan Boys) member Jungkook for a new single titled "Left and Right" on Thursday, June 16.

Charlie made the announcement through a playful TikTok video, in which he pretended to call the K-Pop star on the phone. He later asked Jungkook to sing a snippet of the new song.

"Hey man, what does it sound like when you sing 'Memories follow me left and right'?" Charlie questioned. To that, Jungkook responded, "Sure, that's easy," before proceeding to sing.

Not stopping there, Charlie gave further directions for Jungkook. Later, a brief snippet of the exciting song was played. "This is gonna be crazy," Charlie commented before the video ended.

Fans were unsurprisingly excited for the new collab. "IM SO EXCITED OMFGGGG," one fan wrote. "Now tell me there is a music video please," someone else said, while another comment read, "CHARLIE X JUNGKOOK IS THE BEST COLLAB EVER."

"Left and Right" will be featured in Charlie's upcoming album "Charlie". The song, which already gets a half-million pre-saves on Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer, is set to be out on Friday, June 24.

The single is the third song to be released from "Charlie" following "Light Switch" and "That's Hilarious". The release date of the album has yet to be set, but it will be out later this year.

The collaboration news arrived after BTS shocked fans with a hiatus plan. "I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don't give you time to mature. You have to keep producing music and keep doing something," RM said.

The group's agency HYBE, however, later clarified that the K-Pop sensation is not going on hiatus. "The group will remain active as a team while taking individual journey to further achieve personal growth," a release from their agency HYBE stressed. "[They] will allow themselves to express their individuality through the release of solo albums and collaborations with other artists."
