Other freshman series which have strong showing at this year's Television Critics Association Awards are Apple TV+'s 'Severance' and Showtime's 'Yellowjackets' as they collect four nods each.

AceShowbiz - The 38th annual Television Critics Association (TCA) Awards has revealed its nominations. Announced on Thursday, June 16, the nominations see ABC's comedy show "Abbott Elementary" leading the pack after earning five nods.
The breakout sitcom was nominated for Best Comedy Series, Best New Series and Program of the Year. The show's stars Quinta Brunson and Janelle James are also up for Individual Achievement in Comedy.
Other freshman series which have a strong showing was Apple TV+'s "Severance" and Showtime's "Yellowjackets" which collect four nods each. Meanwhile, Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building" and Netflix's "Squid Game" follow it up with three nominations apiece.
This year also sees that Netflix has a very impressive showing as it earns a total of 13 nominations in several different categories. The streaming giant has four different shows competing in Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming with "Ada Twist, Scientist", "The Baby-Sitters Club", "Octonauts: Above & Beyond" and "Ridley Jones" being in contention for the award.
"The 2022 TCA Awards are an exciting landmark for the organization and its members, as it will be the first time in three years that we are finally able to celebrate together in person," Melanie McFarland, TCA President and TV Critic says.
McFarland adds, "It's fitting, then, that we should ring in this long-awaited occasion with one of the most competitive, talented, and star-heavy nominee rosters in recent memory. This lineup is a testament to how diverse and innovative the modern television landscape has become. We cannot wait to see who will rise above the rest when the winners are revealed at the 38TH Annual TCA Awards on August 6."
