The 'Die Young' hitmaker was taken into custody at a security checkpoint on Saturday night, June 11 after police found a loaded gun inside his vehicle, but was later let go on Sunday.

AceShowbiz - Roddy Ricch has apparently spoken out about his arrest in New York City ahead of his Governors Ball performance. As he was forced to skip the gig due to his unexpected arrest, the 23-year-old addressed the matter during his Hot 97 Summer Jam show.
During his set, Roddy asked the crowd, "New Jersey, you ready?", earning a loud cheer in response. He then said, "Can I hear everybody in here say 'F**k NYPD.' " The patrons later chanted along with him before he started singing his songs.
He performed "ROCKSTAR", his collaborative song with DaBaby", during his set. The Compton native appeared to send another crystal clear message as he emphasized the lyrics, "Brand new Lamborghini, f**k a cop car/ With the pistol on my hip like I'm a cop (Yeah, yeah, yeah)/ Have you ever met a real n***a rockstar? (Yeah)/ This ain't no guitar, b***h, this a Glock (Woo)."
Roddy was taken into custody at a security checkpoint on Saturday night, June 11 after police found a loaded gun inside his vehicle. It was said that an employee hired for the Citi Field concert spotted the Canik 9mm under a seat of the 2020 black Cadillac Escalade that he and his pals were in at the security checkpoint around 6:20 P.M.
The "Die Young" hitmaker was initially charged with four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device and possession of an unlawful feeding device. However, the case was dropped "because the gun in question was found on the floor of the car and not on any person." Roddy was released on Sunday.
"The reason we do this checkpoints is for expressly this purpose," an NYPD official told The Post. "We don’t want people introducing guns in this venue."
