Eminem to Release 'The Eminem Show' Expanded Version on Its 20th Anniversary

The Grammy Award-winning emcee, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, makes the announcement by sharing a 1-minute video of the album highlights, including 'Without Me' and 'White America'.

AceShowbiz - Eminem has a special thing to offer for fans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "The Eminem Show". On Tuesday, May 24, the 15-time Grammy Awards winner announced that he will release the expanded version of the 2002 studio album soon.

Making use of Twitter and Instagram, the 49-year-old unleashed a 1-minute video of the album highlights. They include, "Without Me", "White America", "Sing For the Moment", "Superman" as well as "Cleanin' Out My Closet".

In the accompaniment of the post, Eminem declared, " 'Well, if you want Shady, this is what I'll give ya.' " The emcee, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, went on to add, "#TheEminemShow 20th Anniversary Expanded Edition drops Thursday 5/26."

Since its release, "The Eminem Show" has been certified 12x-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). At the 2003 Grammy Awards, the project was nominated for Album of the Year and won Best Rap Album. One of its tracks "Without Me", in the meantime, won Best Music Video.

Earlier this year, Eminem made headlines at the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI halftime show for taking a knee before Dr. Dre began performing "Still Dre". Although the NFL reportedly told the "Not Afraid" hitmaker not to kneel, he did it anyway to support former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his fight against injustice.

The NFL itself was reportedly not comfortable with the "still not loving police" line in the track. However, Dr. Dre refused to scrap the lyrics as he allegedly felt "disgustingly censored."

Eminem has since earned praise from social media users. "Eminem the GOAT for kneeling even after the NFL told him not to do it," one Twitter user gushed. Another added, "When you know your influence is far greater than the NFL and its ownership. #flex."

A third individual complimented, "Bad idea to tell Dre and Eminem to not do something. And the artists are totally in the right on this. Well done." A different person chimed in, "He still got love for the streets."
