The Rolling Stones frontman, who continues to tour with his rock band alongside Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, reveals that he often thinks about the late drummer 'during rehearsals or on stage.'

AceShowbiz - Mick Jagger "misses" working with Charlie Watts. The Rolling Stones frontman, who shot to fame alongside the late drummer as part of the rock band, admitted that he still thinks about his former co-star almost a year after his passing.

The 78-year-old music legend remembered his late bandmate in an interview with The Times. "I don't really expect him to be there anymore if I turn round during a show. But I do think about him. Not only during rehearsals or on stage, but in other ways too," he said.

"I would have phoned him up and talked about last night's Arsenal game because he supported Tottenham and I'm Arsenal," the English singer, who continues to tour with his iconic rock band alongside Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, added. "I miss him as a player and as a friend."

Mick also noted that when he thinks about Charlie, who died back in 2021 at the age of 80, he remembers him as "the last one down" when the hitmakers would take their final bow after a concert. "In the show, when we come to the front and bow at the end, there's no Charlie," he recalled.

"He'd always be the last one down," Mick went on recounting. "I'd go: 'Come on, what have you got to do?' He'd be fiddling with his sticks because he always had to have them in a row before he'd get off the seat.."

Meanwhile, the music legend added that in terms of the band they have "matured" over the course of their career as they celebrate 60 years in music. He said, "[We are] getting more mature. I'm not joking. It's true, and it's taken a long time. We're in a very immature business. I'm under no illusions about that. But it doesn't mean that you have to be immature."
