While testifying in court, the Mera depicter confirms rumors that her part in upcoming movie 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' has been cut down due to bad press surrounding her legal battle with her ex-husband.

AceShowbiz - Amber Heard had to give all her might to keep her role in "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom". The actress has revealed in court that she "fought really hard" to stay in the movie and confirmed rumors that her scene was reduced significantly amid her defamation trial against Johnny Depp.

"I have. I fought really hard to stay in the movie," Heard said while testifying in the trial on Monday, May 16. "They didn't want to include me in the film." When asked to elaborate, she added that although she's in "The Lost Kingdom", it's "a very pared down version of that role."

"I was given a script," the Mera depicter continued. "Then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoilers away. Two characters fighting with one another. They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch," she added of the changes that were made to her role in the sequel.

In late April, it was reported that Heard's role in "Aquaman 2" has been cut to 10 minutes due to bad press surrounding her legal battle with her ex-husband. YouTuber Grace Randolph tweeted at the time, "I hear Amber Heard has less than 10 min of screentime in Aquaman 2."

Meanwhile, a petition to remove the 36-year-old actress from the sequel nearly reached 4.2 million signatures as of Monday. Back in July 2021, producer Peter Safran told Deadline that "fan pressure" wouldn't impact a decision on whether or not to fire Heard.

"I don't think we're ever going to react to, honestly, pure fan pressure," Safran said on "Hero Nation" podcast at the time. "You gotta do what's best for the movie. We felt that if it's [director] James Wan and [star] Jason Momoa [returning], it should be Amber Heard. That's really what it was."
